Castello Cavalcanti

Wes Anderson never fails.  In this fashion short by Prada and him, Castello Cavalcanti, Anderson again utilizes his signature eccentric style, with the panoramic movement of camera, long takes, horizontal camera moves, the color palette and the soundtrack to tell the story of the egocentric car racer, starred by one of his recurring actors, Jason Schwartzman.  I've always found the Anderson-esque style delightful and unique, and easy to the eye.  This short is, well, pretty short, for it leaves me wanting for more.  Then again, it ended on a perfect note, when Schwartzman, the fast-speaking race car driver, decided to stay behind for a little while and get in touch with his family heritage.  Well, there is one thing though.  Where are all the awesomeness of Prada clothing and gears? I'm quite confused.

Crush

This fashion short by Rachel Antonoff and Bianca Giaever is sweet and adorable.  It is a retelling of how Rachel Antonoff's parents met and fell in love.  A video with cute clothes and a charming and comedic storyline hits the home run in my heart.  The short stars Jack Antonoff, Rachel Antonoff's brother and Fun.'s guitarist, and Gilian Jacobs.  The narration of the characters, Rick and Shira, is sincere and delightful.  They sure do sound like elders retelling of sweet memories of their past.  The filming, the set and the overall vibe has a certain vintage-y and retro feel to it, and the performances reminds me of old school silent films, where actors give hyperbolic movements and expressions to articulate their characters' thoughts and feelings.  The entire short is colorful and vibrant, and I especially love all the pinks in their costumes, the pink sweaters, pants and shorts.  Gosh, I need some pink in my wardrobe.

Burberry Prorsum's "Writers and Painters"

I'm loving Burberry Prorsum's Spring 2014 Menswear this season.  According to style.com, this year, the collection is themed "Writers and Painters", in which the writer was Alan Bennett and the painter, David Hockney.  It's all about the colors in this collection, peeps.  Every look on the runway has a singular color theme, and I am all hyped over the bold primary colored slightly over-sized coats and jackets and tops.  Those bold/color blocking shoes too, are to die for.  I personally have a thing for mens shoes/boy shoes (I can still fit into Zara boys shoes, ain't I lucky?  My feet are just too small) and I would love to have a pair of those magical boldly colored loafers and boat shoes.  May I also emphasize on those colorful man-bags and the mankles?
Here's a note to my future man person, please dress like them models in this collection everyday.

someone should count how many times 'bold' and 'color' (or 'colored') appeared in the text.  I lack vocabs, I know.

it's summer and I got nothing to wear.

It must be a girl thing (or boys too?) that, we always find nothing to wear when our closets are full of clothing items.  It is indeed very frustrating when we are already running late, yet still find ourselves standing clueless in front of our clothes and have no idea what to put on.  It's summer now, and with the long summer holiday this year (graduation year) which means hanging out day and night, my nothing-to-wear-syndrome is getting more and more serious.  Oh my...

hope you enjoyed these simple illustrated outfit ideas:)
